H.E. Bates Companion

Columns written by Bates for the Spectator in 1940, eventually compiled in a volume called Country Life, (where complete information can be found). Full-text of the entire series of columns, 1935-1941, can be found in seven entries, one for each year of publication, under the title "Country Life."

The columns in 1940 are: May 31; June 7, 14, 21, and 28; July 5, 12, 19, and 26; November 15, 22, and 29; December 6, 13, 20, and 27.
