"Obadiah -- a Man Who Met His Match."

A comic sketch, in which a crafty man finds a wife with a "patience and shrewdness that matched his own." Sharing the theme of the bickering couple with several other early stories (The Waddler, The Parrot), this is one of just a few pieces of caricature among Bates's works. In the Manchester Guardian (February 6, 1930), New Clarion (April 1, 1933, p. 325).
