"Well, What is the Answer?"

In one of a series of articles in which writers are invited to respond to questions from readers, Bates suggests that a fitting bequest to a daughter would be "a piece of England...a few acres in extent, with a little woodland, a stream, much grass and a not-too-distant view of the sea."
